PRESENTATION
It is a great pleasure and honour to invite you all to the Meeting here announced, which in fact will be the combination of three major events: the Annual Meeting of the European Association for Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and Psychosomatics (EACLPP), the Biannual European Conference on Psychosomatic Research (ECPR) and the National Congress of the Spanish Association for Psychosomatic Medicine. This will be the second time for our country to host the EACLPP, but the first time to host the ECPR, after visiting some of the most important and beautiful European cities.
It is well known that our Associations promote a holistic medicine, both from the clinical perspective and from the research perspective. The “psychosomatic”, humanistic views in medicine are accompanied with empirical philosophy, in an attempt to find “evidence based” foundations for our practice. Recent advances in Liaison Psychiatry and in Psychosomatics will be presented. Clinical research, but also basic research will be discussed in joint sessions. Country-wise presentations will help to catch international differences in this expanding Europe, in a meeting with important contributions from the United States of America, and also from other continents. Research symposia will help in the dissemination of modern techniques and methods, and interactive workshops will be intended to stimulate discussion and changes in direction when appropriate. While Plenary sessions will be organized to present the state of the art in different, relevant subjects, small group sessions will be organized to stimulate active participation.
It will be an honour to have you in Zaragoza, the capital of the old Kingdom of Aragón, in Spain. This is and old city founded by Caesar Augustus, a city in the crossroads of cultures, that celebrates this year 2008, coinciding with the meeting, the EXPO International Exhibition. It will be a great occasion to visit the city, but also to have access to international science, technique and culture.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Zaragoza, for this very special joint meeting we are about to organize. Our Psychiatry Service in the Hospital Clínico Universitario has been honoured with the organization, and is certainly committed to assure that your stay in this city is pleasant, but also fruitful.

New Abstract Deadline!
The
Scientific Committee has decided to open a new period for Abstracts
submission.
New deadline: April 20th, 2008!
The new Abstracts now submitted and approved will be published in the Congress Book, and will be considered for international awards.
Abstracts in Spanish language are welcomed, and will also be published in the Congress Book if they are accepted. However, they cannot be selected for international awards.
Furthermore, accepted abstracts will be presented as posters or as oral presentations and you can win the best poster or best oral presentation award!
