I am delighted to announce Body and Mind, the inaugural conference of the European Association of Psychosomatic Medicine in Cambridge, UK, from 04-06/07/2013. Body and Mind brings together an international, multi-professional line up of physicians, psychiatrists and psychologists to explore the latest advances in psychosomatic medicine and consultation liaison psychiatry.

The programme covers a diverse range of subjects: neuro-imaging and psychosomatics, self-harm, integrated and collaborative care and transplant psychiatry and psychology are our plenary sessions. We welcome abstracts on a wide range of subjects for the parallel sessions and symposia poster sessions.

Furthermore we are delighted to announce a pre-conference joint day conference on integrated care for physical and mental health organised with the American Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine.

The location for our conference this year is the historic university city of Cambridge. The city is within easy reach of major airports (London Heathrow, Stansted and Gatwick), with excellent rail connections from London. The venue is Homerton College, noted for its beautiful lawned gardens and Victorian architecture. The university dominates the city, with its collection of historic colleges, chapels and botanical gardens. The city is easy to walk or cycle around, as it is flat – an alternative form of transport is the punt (boat) which allows you to see the backs of many colleges from the river Cam. There are several museums and galleries to enjoy and the shopping is excellent, including some well-stocked bookshops and independent small retailers.
